Resizing and Cropping Images

əCMS allows you to easily upload images for use in your website — it will even resize them for you! Depending on the design of your website, you maybe need to make images a different different shape (what graphic designers and photographers call "cropping"), which əCMS isn't smart enough to do on it's own yet.

As such, we would suggest that you download a small image cropping tool: ImageSizer which will run on Windows, OSX and Linux. To install:

1. Click this link
2. Click the Download from Publisher link
3. If you are asked to install Adobe AIR, click Yes
4. When asked if you wish to install the application on your computer, click Install
5. If you are happy with the default installation options (You probably are), click Continue
6. Have a read of the terms and conditions, then click I Agree

Now that ImageSizer has been installed, you can easily crop images. First, ask your designer what height and width the images should be. Next click "import files from a folder" and select the image you wish to crop.

Click the crop button.

Enter the height and width your designer gave you in the height and width fields, then click Maintain aspect ratio.

Now, you can drag the crop box to frame the part of the picture you want to show.

When you are done, click Crop Image

Finally click on Compress your images, select Folder of images and select where you would like to save them.

Now you can upload the image to the filemanager!
