Editing your content

Editing content obviously an important part of any Content Management System. In this CMS, it is possible that there is multiple editable regions. To put a page in edit mode, select Edit Mode from the SchwaBar — the screen will fade out to black, except for any regions that you can edit.

If the page has just been created, you will probably see what looks like latin, or a television test pattern — these are simply placeholders so you know where your content goes. This text won't appear to the public if you don’t change it.

Editing a content area

If the selected area is a content area, a rich-text editor will pop up. This rich text area acts in a very similar way to Microsoft Word® — you are able to style your text, insert images and links and add special characters. Speaking of Microsoft Word, if you have written your copy in Word and you want to cut-and-paste it into the rich-text editor, please use the Paste from Word Paste Word button.

This CMS has the ability to generate a meta description and a set of keywords for you. If you would like this to happen, select Update the page’s description and keywords.

Editing an image area

If the selected area is an image area, the image editor will pop up. Click the Select an Image link to bring up the File Manager. You can use the File Manager to upload, or select an existing image. You should also set a Description, which will be displayed to users that have images turned off, and will also help with search engine results. If you want to link the image to another page, enter that now too.

When you have finished editing, simply click Edit Mode from the admin ribbon again, and the page should fade back to it’s original state.
